Kairos Prison Ministry receives no direct funding from the prison service or related government organizations. All the costs are provided by donations from individuals, churches, grant making bodies and other organizations.
Preparing and running a Kairos course is expensive:
£2000 for Inside events and a minimum of £3000 for Outside events
Extensive training and equipping a team of volunteers
Travel and meeting with the prison authorities
Purchasing the resources and agape items use throughout the courses
Providing and delivering cookies as part of the agape to the prison
Kairos Outside programmes also have to provide the venue and food for the weekend and sometimes help with travel costs for participants.
